Roberto Albisetti is IFC Country Manager for Colombia, Perú, Venezuela and Ecuador, in the Latin America and Caribbean department, based in IFC sub-regional office in Bogotá.
Roberto joined the IFC in 1998 as a senior investment officer in the petrochemical department.
Following his field assignments in Chisinau, Moldova, in 2000, he managed IFC Resident Office in Belgrade covering Serbia, Montenegro, Croatia, Bosnia and Moldova in the Southern Europe Department.
Prior to joining IFC, Roberto was a Senior Vice President of SACE, as head of operation of the Italian Export Credit Agency.
Previously he was advisor of the Executive Director for Italy at the World Bank.
He started his career in the international finance division of Finmeccanica. He set up the project finance unit of Ansaldo, and then moved New York to develop independent power projects.
Roberto holds a degree in Economics and Business from the University of Genova. He also completed post-graduate studies at New York University in international banking and finance.
Roberto has been professor of finance in SDA Bocconi Milan and at the University of Genova. He has published two academic books on project and structured finance.
