Alberto Gutierrez is a Civil Engineer, graduated in 1980 from the Universidad de los Andes. A year later, he completed his Master in Business Administration from the same university in Bogota, Colombia.
Alberto started his professional career at Carbocol (Carbones de Colombia) where he acted as the Project Evaluation Division´s chief from 1981 to 1984. Then he moved to the Empresa de Acueducto y Alcantarillado in Bogotá where he was a sub-manager on the financial area until 1988.
During the 90´s he spent 13 years on the Colmena Bank, acting first as its finacial vice-president and then from 1993 to 2001 as its Chairman. Colmena has been the leading company on financing programs of “social interest housing” in Colombia, as on the outline for financing programs innovation and development for this type of homes.
In 2001, he moved to FINAC (Finanzas y Actuaría) where he became Director and Partner for 3 years. FINAC is a company dedicated on tool development and risk management consulting for the Colombian financial sector. The company has participated on model developments for the risk evaluation and analysis on mortgage credit, also on various consulting projects on the financing programs of housing in Latin America.
Finally from October 2003 he has acted as the Chairman of Titularizadora Colombiana, a company specialized on Mortgage Backed Securitizations created in Colombia on 2001. Nowadays, He also works as:
